Hi guys
I am migrating in June to Brisbane.
However, when looking at the real estate websites I am a at a bit of a loss as I have no idea where to start looking, which suburbs are good and ones to avoid etc., and also I would possibly like to be perhaps near some other migrants like myself as I am migrating alone and would be great to meet people in same boat etc!

I need any info you can offer on short term accommodation for the interim period when I first arrive! I don't need a large house, a unit would be fine or an apartment as there is only one of me!

Does anyone have any ideas?

Hey,

When we arrived in Brisbane I booked a hotel in the centre for 2 weeks, with the deals going around at the moment it will be econmical, and you have the privelidge to book out any time if you want to move on.

What I will say, you have migrant help in short stays etc, but they tie you in for your stay and charge a fortune for their services. I cant say what value you will get as I am not qualified.

We stayed at www.auspitality.com.au for 5 weeks when we arrived in Brisbane last year.
FANTASTIC place,very good rates for a wonderful appartment, lounge/diner,bedroom, separate kitchen and bathroom , bbq area,washing line,pool etc i could go on .... Its a separate unit of a couple called Sharon and Neill's house. You have youre own entrance and come and go as you please. As migrants themselves they can help you whereever you need it or equally if you want privacy you wont see them at all. Lovely lovely people.
Its situated in Thornlands just outside the city near the coast so just perfect for you to do your running around looking for something more permanent in and around Brisbane.
I'd really recommend it ... and so much more affordable than a hotel ...Much nicer too !!!
