Default HELP- immigration checking up ?!?!?!

Hi,
My partner is self employed and had his TRA approval last July. Visa was applied for at the end of Jan and now we have just heard that DIMIA (we think) have made contact with one of his contracts to check up that he works there and how many hours he works. Does anyone know if this is normal procedure or do they only do this if there is a question over hours/credibility? After 17 weeks of not hearing nothing I am worried :scared:
Please help!x

Don't panic. DIMA do spot checks on applications. It just means that someone is looking at your case, which is a good thing.

Thanks for that. Due to the time it's taken I'm living on my nerves! My partner said he wished he hadn't told me as I then went off into one saying that was it. They didn't trust our application, blah, blah, blah. I think if we did get lucky he would go without me!
