Help, I'm a virgin!!!!

Hello, I'm new to the forum (a virgin poster!!).
My husband and I are just starting to gather all the information required for skills assessment through TRA. He is an industrial electrician supervisor and I' a PA, we have two young boys, ages 9 and 6. We are looking to apply via STNI, Victoria. Does anyone have any information as to how much information the TRA require, he has worked for the same company since leaving school and moved up the ranks to now being a supervisor, so I don't think we will have any problems (but who can tell!!). I would really appreciate some advice or if anyone has examples of letters or evidence I would really appreciate it.

Many thanks

Hi and welcome! :)

If you check out the immigration forum(this one is more lifestyle and culture), and do a search for TRA, you should find heaps of info.
Also, tra has a website(maybe you already found it). Don't know what is it, but should be mentioned on the SOL list, which you can get via www.immi.gov.au.

Good luck!
:)

Wouldn't have thought your Hubby would have a problem if he has worked at the same firm for years, does he have his City and guilds?
Does he think his firm will be willing to provide the reference, cos he will definitely need it.
Anyway as Simone says you will get loads of info from the inmmigration forum.

Good luck :)

My hubby has about 6 weeks left to do on his HND in electrical engineering - it will be difficult getting a reference from the company without telling them we are going to emigrate.

Hi brijaq, welcome to the forum, I see you're from Cumbria, so are we. Its nice to hear of someone else from this area making the move, where are you hoping to head to? :D :) :D

Hiya, where abouts in Cumbria are you from?
We are hoping to head for Melbourne/Victoria, because of the points going up to 120 we now fall short of the pass mark by 5 points so the STNI is the only way forward.
What visa are you applying under?
How far down the line are with your application?
What is your job?

We're from Barrow, "at the end of the worlds longest Cul de Sac" :D Whereabouts are you?
The points going up was a real bummer for those that hadn't already got their applications in. :(
Luckily for me the Missus was born in Aus, so she and the kids are sorted with Aussie Passports and I'm applying for a Spouse Visa.
Had the police checks and Med done, got the Stat Decs done this week and am now as we speak collating all the paperwork to front load the application hopefully tommorrow. So with a bit of luck, all being well, I should hopefully hear something maybe as soon as the end of this month. :D
I'm currently working as a Senior Draughtsman, but I could so do with a change.
