Question Help Im Confused!!

HI ALL
JUST STARTING ON THE JOURNEY TO EMIGRATE, JUST WONDERED IF ANYONE HAD ANY ADVICE, MY HUSBANDS MUM LIVES IN AUS AS DOES MY SISTER. WE WERE UNDER THE IMPRESSION ONE OF THEM WOULD BE ABLE TO SPONSER US BUT IT LOOKS TO ME LIKE THERE IS CERTAIN CRITERA TO FAMILY MIGRATION. CAN WE JUST BE SPONSERED OR SHOULD WE THINK ABOUT GETTING HUBBYS SKILLS ASSESSED (WELDER FABRICATOR 17 YRS NO PAPERS) ANY ADVISE WOULD BE TRULY APPRECIATED.
GREAT SITE!!!!! LEANNE**

Thats ok, sorry I cant be of any help. My husbands mother lives in UK and has done for 90% of her life she is 82yrs old. We were going down the skills road when I found out that she was born in Australia although moved to UK when she was very young, but it meant my husband could apply for Citizenship by descent which was something that we had never heard of.

Good Luck!!

Firstly - please turn off the capitals .....

Secondly, there is preference in the skilled migration system for those with relatives in Australia, but skill requirements (plus sponsorship and assurance requirements) must still be met. Where your sponsor lives in Australia is also important.

Start at the DIMIA website, download and read the Skilled Migration Booklet.
