Help!! - House Buying In Australia??
We are going over to Oz on a 136 visa. I have always had it in my head that until you become a citizen, after 2 years, you were only allowed to buy new-builds or build your own house 
My question is: on a 136 visa can we go over and purchase a 'second hand' house?

On a 136 you can buy whatever you want!
I think the restrictions are for people on temporary Visas.

PR's and Citizens have almost the same rights in many things. So much so, that many PR's don't even bother getting Citizenship
(In 11 months time it will be 20 years since I got PR, and maybe, just maybe, I will have got round to filling those forms in and become a citizen

Our house sale is just going through and hope to go to Brisbane (Cleveland!) at the start of May.
We wanted to get to the meeting you held last year but could not make it in the end.
Did you sort you business sale problems out?
