Hoping to come out to Oz at xmas for a reccie trip and the flight prices are sky high!! We are a family of 4 and unfortunatly xmas is the only time we can get enough time of work to go!! Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks

Just checked out their website and they are saying no available seats left no matter what dates i use, so will try again later as i think they may have prob with website at mo! Can i ask which airport you are flying from?

Have you tried Expedia.co.uk? I've always found they do good deals on flights

Try Lees Travel; they usually offer very good prices to destinations in Asia and Down Under (they offer the consolidated fares......started out in London many years ago as a 'bucket shop' as the owner was a Singaporean offering cheap fares there!).

Many expats and their families get their flights through Lees.....best to phone them for their best prices which are not always posted up on their website.

We've just booked holiday for November for a reccie trip - used Travelmood.com. I checked out numerous travel agents and also online but they had the best prices that I could find. Whether they have good deals for Christmas I dont know, but may be worth a try. Hope it helps.

I might be wrong, but don't they bump the prices at Xmas because they know lots of families will be visiting ex-pats? I think you might just have to swallow the expense if you can't go any other time...

Also remember it is school summer holidays here therefore flights and accommodation will be expensive. Try looking for some accommodation before you book the flight to see how much it will cost. Summer holidays start the end of December to end of January, so try and work round that if you can! Sorry for not being much help.

unfortunately prices go up around 6 december to aus as its heading into peak travel season, so even if you can get a seat at this stage you are going to be paying through the nose anyway....my folks booked last year in june and travelled on 6 december for around 750GBP on the 7 dec flights went up almost 300GBP per person

www.oasishong.com Gatwick to Hong Kong then www.jetstar.com.au from Hong Kong to Australia (via Singapore) maybe get a cheap www.tigerairways.com from Singapore.

A lot of messing around, but I priced a one way flight for next year at £260.00 one way using that route.

lastminute.com comes highly recommened by my tutor at college. Flys all the time to singapore and thiland.
