Help!!!!!
Hi,
This is the first time on this site, was recommended by a friend who left for Perth 31st dec 2003...... and is loving every minute..
I have been reading all kinds of discussions for the past week or so and find it very, very informative, especially as myself and family have decided to apply to migrate to Aus.
Although I am still researching, everything I can possibly think off!!! I have 4 kids and a hubby... kids ages are 15, 14, 9 and 8. My youngest child is 'Autistic', and attends a main stream school, and so far this has been effective. Has anybody been in a similar situation and if so, what kind of 'Special Needs' assistance is available etc, etc???
I would love to hear from anybody who could give me some advice.
Thanks.

Re: Help!!!!!
I joined the AutismAustralia list, but didn't find them very helpful - no-one answered my questions
Both my boys are dx. Aspergers and attended mainstream school - but are now home-edded.
I have *heard* that Australia isn't as on-the-ball as the UK, but then, it's a matter of perspective.
I would be interested too, if anyone has any more info.

Re: Help!!!!!
first of all welcome aboard, and be warned that you will soon become addicted to the forum.
Best to do a search for posts by Sandra, she has a child with hearing difficulties and like your child is in main stream schooling, but did have problems getting the visa on this issue. They (DIMIA) were concerned that she needed specialist schooling and the cost associated with it.
