Hi,
Our application went in two weeks ago.
Never been to oz before, but if we don't do it now we never will, like they say "you only live once". Our main worry at the moment is where to settle. I mean where the hell do we start ?.
Wife has rellies in Elizabeth WA and wants to go there. I fancy Perth but don't like the '' Little England " tag it seams to have ,(according to some users of this site). Brisbane looked ok on the telly last week, but how do you know which are good or bad areas?. ...................HELP......

This is probably a very long shot but trying to find Dave and carol Needham, left for Perth/Melbourne from Stockport, Cheshire in 93/94. ( phoned four people upto now with the same name, ....wrong numbers, forgot the time difference, they weren,t very happy).
Also Rob Simcock Left Stockport, for Perth in 2000 .

We also want to go to Brisbane but are open to suggestions. If i was in your place i would search the forum and read peoples postings some are good some are bad. Some of the postings are really good and they may help you in your search to find a new home in OZ.

I went on friends reunited. Contacted old school friends that had moved to OZ. It may be a way of finding the people you are looking for.

What feedback have you had regarding mechanics jobs?
I'm a vehicle painter myself. Iv'e joined a jobseekers website called " SEEK " and to be honest what they've sent me so far has not been very encouraging. The missus is a nurse so hopefully she'll be ok. I know HOLDEN (GM) and MITSUBISHI are based in Adelaide , but i don't fancy becoming a small cog in a large machine. Would rather work for a small body repair shop ( there not on every other back street like they are here) or preferably for myself, i paint bikes as well, which is my hobby
