Heavy Goods Vehicles in OZ

To validate a UK HGV license in Western Australia do you have to pass just a theory test and then submit/change license to Australian within 3 months.........does this differ from normal car licenses and from one state to another, I think I read somewhere about standardisation of driving licences throughout Australia, can anyone help ?

Thanks.

I am pretty sure he will have to sit the written test and the driving test. It is completely different to the car licence. Truck licences are "B" Class and cars are "A" - Manual and I think it is either "C" or "L" for automatic cars.
