health insurance waiting period

Hi

Does anyone one know of a health insurance company here that recognises switching from a non aussie provider so there isn't another 12 month waiting period before being fully covered ?

I think I've seen it mentioned here before but can't find the thread now.

Thanks

Do you mean for pre-existing conditions? Only I am sure I was covered straight away (I don't have pre-existing conditions).

Some health insurance won't cover things like pregnancy for the first 12 months - and even dentistry for 3 months. I assume this is what the OP is referring to. My own PH provider won't cover psychiatric care for 3 years as apparently a few people were signing up, paying a few hundred over the first 3 months and then getting very expensive residential psych care (costing over $200K).

I can't help with the original question OP - but have a look at http://www.phio.org.au/downloads/fil...htToChange.pdf it may give you some info about what to ask the health funds you're looking at!
