Default Health Insurance for Kids Brace

What's the best plan to go with that gives vfm cover for kids braces, just in case the family trend continues?

From reading the threads the general standard of health care is good so a lot of people say don't bother.

I've got to pay a levy so I figure get something. Does taking extras cover stop me paying the levy? Or do I have to take hospital cover as well?

Being lazy and couldn't be bothered searching iselect in detail. Hoping somebody has a kid that has braces. I understand the overall cost will be circa $5000 without insurance. With insurance what costs should I hope to see?

Thanks
Ian

I asked our local Orthodontist that question, and his answer was that the best policy would probably cover about 50% of the cost.
