Just wondering how good are the gyms in Sydney....and about the price?

Could you guys please give some suggestions....

Fitness First is all over, but I have joined our local council run sports ctr. For $130 a month you get all the classes plus swimming (Olympic size pool) plus other pools and a good gym. The one I go to is in Sutherland (Sydney suburb) but there wont be a problem finding a good one in your area.

I'm at Fitness First in Dee Why. It has 7000 members. Large free weights area, usual weights machines. Loads of cardio. Swimming pool. Childcare. cafe, Cycle room, big aerobics studio. etc etc

But there's quite a few gyms out there. There are different types of membership - mine costs about $78 per month, I think.

With Fitness first haggle like crazy and don't listen to the salesman. They will give you short term contracts and waive joining fees. The Mrs uses the Gym under the Swiss grand. Apparently very good and not as intimidating as Fitness First. The Bondi Junction Fitness first is known for its muscle Marys.
