Default Health/Ambulance Insurance in Victoria

Having just got the kids on new bikes it's an accident waiting to happen so I reckoned we ought to get ambulance cover as without it I heard you can get a big bill. If anyone's got any tips (preferably not too much direct experience!) I'd be grateful to hear them.

Money well spent for all Victorians! Believe me, you don't want one bill (not me personally but a friend and a relative, uninsured, have had to foot a bill).

Is there a similar scheme in NSW - I wouldn't want to get caught out and have a huge bill just because we weren't aware. Anyone know? Thanks.

Try this link:

http://www.ambulance.nsw.gov.au/fees/fees.html

You may be fully covered with your private health insurance.BUT CHECK as not all health insurances cover your for EVERY AMBULANCE EVENTUALITY.
We paid the separate ambulance fee the first year and then found out that we were covered already with Medibank.
