Might be a bad time to go, the airports are largely shut down from all accounts

My sympathies! I'm cold here today, god knows how I'd cope in the UK. Hope you land somewhere close to where you want to be.

My friend from Singapore just posted on Facebook that he's landed in Cyprus instead of Heathrow!

We're heading back too, hoping to land somewhere in England on Friday morning. The way my year has gone, anything is possible.

MP - you can imagine how much I'm looking forward to the weather. My winter wardrobe is woefully inadequate; I don't even own a pair of tights.

My friend was on today's lunchtime SIA flight SIN - LHR.

They turned back and landed exactly where they started as Heathrow is now closed all Sunday! Previous flight to London is parked in Dubai. Yesterday's flights are scattered around Europe.

Good luck freebo!

I'm hearing stories of planes turning back to Hong Kong because they've nowhere to land, people due in the UK still in Chicago, all trains and planes in the Netherlands at a standstill...not looking great but hopefully won't take me a week like it did in April

Don't envy any of you!

I was so worried I'd get stuck there it sent me in such a panic!! I was so glad that I chose Manchester to fly to and from, as they were the only airport that didn't close at some point.

Hope you all manage to get where you want to be, and I hope you all manage to get back again

My husband landed at Manchester on time yesterday, then caught the train to Norwich as planned and arrived 10 minutes early, so it's not all doom and gloom.

Good luck everyone

He's still in SIN and the flight has just been cancelled...was listed as leaving at 1100 today. Not sure what happens next, can't imagine there's a lot of spare seats the week before Xmas to accomodate an A380 load of pax!

I have relatives flying down from Hong Kong tomorrow (meant to arrive in the evening) but they're delayed as the aircraft originates in London - 12 hour delay at the moment - not impressed!! Really hope it doesn't get any worse...........
