Are there any Head Chefs in or heading over to the Gold Coast. OH has been Chef/Head Chef for 20 years we're hopefully heading out there early next year. Does anyone know if there's plenty of jobs out there for Chefs and where's the best place to head for?

We're going over on a skilled visa, passed TRA and applied for Visa early March waiting to do medicals. Playing the waiting game now.

Friend of mine is an exec chef, lived in Tasmania and bought a house on the gold coast. He spoke to several agencies who all told him that there are many jobs available on the gold coast but they (the agencies) wanted to see him first before they would give him any ideas of type of vacancies...........who knows why-could have been done over the phone in my opinion.

Anyway he ended up finding his dream job in Broome, so not too far from the gold coast !!!!!!

So judging by his experiences there are plenty of jobs there as long as you are able to meet the agents first.

We're just starting the process, TRA sent off and waiting for results, planning to go to Perth or surrounding areas- maybe Bunbury, let us know how you get on and of course Good Luck

head for the gold coast,there are plenty of jobs there. as long as you dont expect to jump into a head chef position straight away,you should be fine.

i am a chef although not cheffing at the moment and there are loads of senior cheffing positions available at the gold coast, i live in Brisbane and see them advertised all the time
