on which companies in UK will offer a "buy to let" mortgage whilst still living in OZ.

We're looking to buy a property back in England, (like loads of people we sold our house when we came out here 17 months ago), want to get back on the property market, have been to our Australian bankers but they weren't interested in offering a mortgage on a property outside of OZ.

So after many heated discussions with OH about whether it is possible or not , I just know that someone out there will be able to advise, he is adamant that it will be possible and that any lender would give us money as long as the property is in the same country as if we default then they can get the property, but I'm not sure if we don't have a residential listing and are not on any electoral roll then ..........you can see why we are going round in circles please can anyone put us out of our misery and point us in the right direction.

We had trouble getting a buy to let mortgage while still in the UK as we had told them we were moving to OZ.
And like wise the OZ banks weren't interested in using our UK house as security against a business loan in oz as it would be to much hassel trying to sort out things if they went wrong.
And then there's all the paper work you would need to do and get signed by a justice of peace before sending it all over.

Long shot, but try asking in the moving back to the UK forum as people in there are more likely to have some experience in this kind of thing
