Hi all
After having the house on the market for a year, we have finally decided to rent it out and get out there to enjoy our new lives.
We've rented it twice before when travelling for 12 months on seperate occasions and had no problems.
If and when things pick up, we will put it back on the market in a couple of years...we are planning on renting for a year or two in Oz anyway.
Got the agent coming out tomorrow and have asked the shipping people to do us a new quote, as we had the first one done last summer, and I imagine thats gone up because of the fuel.
All the excitment of moving to Oz had gone but now we've decided to do this and getting the ball rolling, we are starting to feel excited again.
So, hoping to be out there within the next couple of months.

Good luck, we're doing exactly the same thing!! Glad to hear your previous rentals went ok.

We too have done just this, infact our tenants moved in last Friday and we are now living with MIL. We fly out 4th September so only 4 1/2 weeks to go

Hi,
Our house has been on market since July last year with now joy. We came to Oz in March 08 and left house empty and still on market, still no joy. EA called us in April and said they had a couple who were looking for a 3 month let and would we consider it. We said yes as thought it would pay mortgage for us. All has gone well and we are now in the process of taking the house off the market and just going to rent it out for a couple of years until market turns around. Its fine, no stress, the EA does everything so we dont even think about it!!! Renting in Oz is fine and there are loads of properties around to choose from.

hi we have done the same, got a short term furnished rental 40mins from brisbane then got a 6 months rental when are shipment arrived jonny

We are going to do the same, we only got our visa this morning, we dont really want to go until after christmas but shall see. Just cannot do with the hassle of selling when we want to rent in OZ to start with anyway.

We too are going to rent our home.
I suppose it's a good feeling, if it goes pair shaped in OZ we can always come back to own house (obviously we will still give it our best shot in OZ)
To sell in the UK now would be madness.
Reading on here I think property is getting cheaper in Perth, how much who can tell. But for me I would love to see them crash.
