I've booked them and they have moved most of my stuff into their UK storage facilities as I have a bit of a gap before finally moving. So far, they have been excellent all round. Price was competitive, packing service was efficient and thorough: no complaints at all.

Of course, the next steps for my stuff are containerisation, then shipping, Oz customs clearance, possible storage in Oz, then final delivery. All these other steps, except the first, are not directly under their control but will be influenced by who they pick to do the work.

We was going to use John Masons, but went for PSS in the end. Better price (bargain with them!) and heard better reports from other people.

Make sure you tell them to reduce their costs - it's a cut-throat game. We saved over £150 on PSS's initial quote, and John Masons cam down about £300.

Went for PSS in the end.

We have had a quote this week of £3555 for a 20ft sole use container. A mate of mine used them to take his stuff over and said they were great, so were just waiting for a few more prices before we decide who to go with.

Which part of Oz are you off to? They have just quoted me £3795 to Melbourne.

Hi,

We used John Mason in 2003 to ship a container full to Melbourne and they were very good - everything arrived intact with not one breakage.

Karen,

Your 20ft container is it a reefer (smaller) or a GP?
