Default Has anyone shipped a futon?

Just wondering if anyone has shipped a futon and futon mattress? I'm just wondering because the wood of the futon doesn't look as though it has got any wax or varnish on it and the mattress is full of 'stuff' which could be cotton or old jumpers or anything!! Will it get through customs?

They are looking for "green wood" and things which could harbour insects and the like. I dont think an IKEA (and apologies since it probably isnt) standard of futon isnt exactly a hotbed of African bug activity (I hope). That and ours got through just fine.

Probably not but you are advised to get rid of it anyway to avoid confiscation by the little-known Australian good taste import vetting department.

Cheers
