Where would you be working? Northam and Toodyay are not remote, but are pretty far from commutable distances to Perth.

Not sure yet as at state sponsorship stage, the reason I ask is to gain personal experience of the reality of living there. Your answer has already helped, would it be possible to expand on Northam. Many thanks x

Hi,
I know a family who are teaching in Northam (Primary). Have been their two years and doing ok. So it cant be bad if they have lasted 2 years with a child.
From what Ive heard ok town, but the state high school has bit of a bad rep.
However several schools in the town to choose from.
Not too far from Perth and has a train service to Perth.

Like Gems, I also know a family teaching in Northam (secondary). They have one daughter aged 12. They have been there 6 months and really like it! I have visited a few times and seem a quiet, friendly town. It is only an hour from Perth, so definately commutable, but not sure why you'd want to move there unless you lived there - other, busier towns/ cites the same distance from Perth.

Northam is a pretty good medium size country town, whilst drivable to Perth for things like big buys for the house etc...
Wouldn't want it as a commute each day though.
