Has anyone demolished a house and rebuilt??
Hi
Just wondering if anyone has demolished a house and rebuilt in WA??
I know it will depend on size etc but just looking for a rough cost and if anyone has done it.
Many thanks

That was 5 years ago and since then I have been told by all and sundry that we are nuts to even think about knocking this place down? As such......... we never got round to it.

We virtually rebuilt our house in Port Melbourne, all but the front facade was demolished. The builder said it would take 6 months, it actually took 11 months, lots of arguements, the cost kept going up, but in the end we got what we wanted and glad we did it.
I think we overcapitalised with the build, but now house prices have caught up so we're fine.
We are now thinking of doing it again somewhere else.
I strongly recommend getting an architect to oversee the entire project. Its well worth the extra cost when things dont quite go to plan. Also make sure every single detail is on the plan before you start, any slight variation will be charged at top dollar (eg light switch, $60, fitting a doorbell supplied by us = $100)
Good luck!

We were at the point of signing up for a lot which had two house on it, both of which would be demolished. (one was only 10 years old!) We were quoted a very ballpark figure of $40k each but it depends on what you want to keep and what you let the demolitionists keep.
