because of the warm climate its easier in some respects harder in others

stuff grows a lot quicker and you can grow some veggies all year round
however insects are a pain and if you have fruit trees you also have to guard against parrots bats and possums ( so netting or covering the tree is the only solution )
you may have seen bannana trees with great big plastic bags over the fruit

You need to align the patch N/S. Sun goes through the North during the day.
Find a planting guide - you'll be able to plant all year round.

the main reason for putting bags over nanas is to make them rippen quicker and to prevent sun damage so the fruit looks good.

That's a bit worrying mate - tomatos are my speciality. I grew 5000 off 21 plants one year in the UK.....

Buzzy
We are in Western suburbs of Melbourne- our cherry toms have so far provided about 4 kilos, and they have only just started!
Only one roma tom so far though.
5 strawberries (will not be advertising 'pick your own'!)
Lettuce galore
Chillis galore
Capsicums just starting

Maybe it is the better climate over west?
