Hi,
Can't help with QLD I'm afraid but a good friend of mine in Melbourne has found it very difficult. Owned his own company in the UK but 3 months before he got any work and he had to drop his hourly rate to $40. Lots of companies responded to his resume and loved his work but opportunities were really scarce. Having said that once he got his first lot of work it's been pretty good, about 6 weeks solid now.
