Government Housing through Sponsorship

Hi everyone

We have been sponsored by SA government and we can apply for government housing for the first few months. This is not always guaranteed and wondered if anyone had any experience of the process and been successful in obtaining it.
Any comments greatly appreciated

Many thanks

Lia

Hi , We applied for the OAA (on arrival accomadation) and we were informed a few weeks ago we go it,,in a nice part of Adelaide aswell, so we are well pleased,, it only for up to 12 weeks, but thats plenty of time to find a permanent address, Im just happy to get a roof over our heads for when we land. I have heard its hard to get but we must of timed it just right. Apply for it and see what happens, you have to have flight details etc.

We had it when we arrived in 2006. The accomodation is very basic but clean and it's a roof over your heads when you arrive. Bear in mind though that there is no linens so you will have to either shop for pillows/blankets the first day here or bring your own. You'll need to do a food shop anyway, so I guess that's not that big an issue.

You already know it's not easy to get. Thousands apply, a few are successful.

No. It's a South Australia government initiative.
