Something I read a few months back was a story about someone who had sold everything to reduce shipping costs but then had to spend a fortune to replace everything. The example she gave was a paint tray and roller which she sold at a car boot for 50p, but to but a new one was something like $8.00 when she got to Oz (I have no idea if that is a true price). But stories like that made us think we should just take everything.
But then on the other hand I've read stories where people have taken nothing and then had great fun spending the money on new stuff, that they would have spent on shipping. Guess it's personal choice and the age and condition of the furniture etc.
Good luck.

We recently bought a dining table and chairs and would have lost minimum £500 selling them and then would need to add some money to replace in Oz, probably another £500, so in our case the extra £1000 is justified on that item alone.
