Exclamation Got medical request but...

Hi all..

Yesterday DIMIA sent me an email containing Medical forms and PCC request. I applied for Skilled Ind. - 136 on 20th dec-04. It the instruction file it is mentioned that all the family unit migrating or not will undergo a medical test. I want to confirm that what family unit means...??? spouse and children or Parents are also included in the family unit. I am the only person in the application for migration.

plz advice

I don't know the full meaning for family unit according to DIMIA, but I never had to get my parents to do a medical and mine was the same visa class as yours. I think if you have kids and they don't want to go, they still have to do a medical.

I think it includes any spouses and children (even if they aren't going) but not parents

I'm with Worzel on this one. It is your spouse plus any children whether migrating or not. So in your case it sounds like it's just you.

If you are the sole applicant, then only you need to undertake the medical. If you have children (even if they are not living with you) they also have to undertake the examination.

Unless you can persuade DIMIA it's 'unreasonable' for non-migrating children to do medicals. Which depends on circumstances and usually requires a good agent on your side.
