You don't HAVE to change your name on your passport - you can chose to keep your single name. I have been married 18 years and have never used my married name except when I had a baby - just so the nurses weren't mean to me!!!

Keep your name and save the hassle!

Its all you need to know about renewing your passport in Australia or change of name replacements.

.... and it costs a fortune- about 10 bucks less than a new passport.

I got married 5 years ago, and both UK and Aus passports are in maiden name, but everything else is in married name, which I only changed when we had a baby earlier this year.

No-one is surprised at having 2 names here! My work and tax are in maiden name as I can't be bothered to change my work email address...
