Got an interview!!!!!

Gosh......... am so excited, there I was minding my own business eating my toast when I received a call from Oz asking me to attend an interview (in London), for a post at the Mater Children's hospital in Brisbane next month, (Oct 2009).
Now that the shock is subsiding I am already getting nervous!!
Can anyone PLEASE offer any pointers for preparing for the interview at all???
Currently work in UK and am paed and general qualified. Hoping to get 175 or 176 visa as hubby and our 2 boys aged 12 and 10 coming too!!!

All paperwork currently with ANMC for skills assess, so this was a bolt out of the blue as was going to wait until applied for visa before looking for a job, but they said if successful will hold the post for me!!??!!

Would really appreciate any advice folks please.

Sheila.

I've been doing a few the last few months & had a result in the end.

Pointers ... stay calm, positive, relaxed & confident but not overly so. Listen carefully to the interviewers, smile as much as you can, keep your answers short & to the point & stay focused!

You'll be fine im sure

Congratulations! Ensure you have a clear understanding of the position requirements and that all your responses tie your skills back to the position. From my experience that is extremely important because it shows how your experience aligns with the requirements of the role. The only way to do this is to prepare, prepare and more prepare. Do a mock interview with someone else so you can practice how you come across to ensure responses are concise. Of course, take a deep breath, smile, be confident and you'll be fine.

I've got 2 interviews tomorrow and am already feeling sick to my core. I find the only way to cope with my interview nerves is to convince myself I don't really want the job - I'm a lot more relaxed in interviews when I'm not that keen on the role!

Anyhow good luck!

Deb, you make it sound like eng interviews are easy in comparison. I can assure you they are no cake walk and I've had plenty of questions out of left field. They're not asking me to define pythagorean theorem, trust me.
