We got our Oz permanent residency visa notification last week at long last!!!

So relieved it's all over. Until we registered on here in November 2001 we were completely in the dark with what was happening to our application, so thanks to everyone on here who have shared their experiences over that time.

I went down to Australia House and joined the queue at 8.20am. They opened at 9am and I'd had the visa labels put in our passports by 9.30am :-)

We applied to Australia House in London in November 2000 as Skilled Independant non-IT. We send medical and police checks then as required by London at that time.
We were told 9 months wait in our acknowledgement letter. We didn't contact them again and next heard from them in March 2002 and had to send some additional information and new police checks. 8 weeks after sending that we were notified that our visa's had been granted.

It's still not sunk in fully, but we've booked our one way tickets to Adelaide for July and can't wait to get there. Adelaide's a beautiful city to live in and we're moving to one of the beach suburbs.

We're now off out to town to celebrate for yet another night in a row and get as much Old Perculiar and Summer Lightning drunk as we can whilst still here so we get so sick of it that we won't miss it when we go!

Don't drink Adelaide dry when you get there as we will be right behind you (mid-August)!!!

Adelaides a great place to live we have rellies there and they say would'nt come back to Blighty, the only regret is that they did'nt do it sooner.
