Goodbyes & 18 hours to GO!!

Well, we've had the leaving do (really hard and loads of emotions) :(

I said goodbye to my mom, 2 sisters, my 16 year old son who is staying and nieces and nephews this morning (that was the hardest thing I have ever had to do :( )

Last meal with mother and father in law tonight and then leaving thiers at 7am tomorrow for Heathrow.

Shit, this is tough!!

Excited, nevertheless. :)

Good luck Billabong, I hope all goes well in Oz. At least your getting one of
the hardest parts out of the way . I hope Oz is all you are hoping that it
will be! By the way why is your 16 year old not going, did he just decide
that Oz is not for him ? I hope you don`t mind be asking but my 16 year
old isn`t too keen on leaving friends etc.

keep posting,

Tracey

Good luck Billabong and family,

No denying it's tough and it's this bit of emigrating that we all fear and dread.

Have a safe journey,

Keep the posts coming :)

Thanks for the good wishes folks :D

Hilton's - Nick (16 year old) is staying behind because he want's to join the British Army. I have had to respect his decision at the end of the day but it doesn't make it any easier.

Just come back from Chinese with the in laws and am now struggling with making sure the cases don't exceed 32kgs and have suddenly discovered that we are 24kgs over our allowance.

Shit - does anyone know what Singapore Airlines charge for excess baggage?

Billabong,

I read on this forum (I think it was this one) that sometimes Singapore allow extra allowance if you are emigrating. Might be worth a quick call to their res department. I also read on the same article that they sometimes don't charge for extra baggage. God with the goodbyes and tears you don't need this stress now I can tell you.

Best of luck

I'm sure if you flash the sticker they will let you have the extra. All the best, have a great flight.

Well folks, this is it :D

We have checked the luggage in and we were 9 kgs over. We kicked up a bit of a fuss and they let us off - otherwise it would have been £27 per kilo (robbing bas****s)

See you on the other side!!!!
