Question Good/reasonably priced furniture stores QLD

Hi All
Been in Brisbane for 4 weeks now (still trying to convince ourselves that it's NOT a holiday!) and (fingers crossed!) got rental sorted for next week. Container should be through by end of the week but we need to buy some furniture to fill the new house!!
We've been looking for double/queen beds, patio furniture, BBQ, sofa... but unlike being in the UK we don't know what is a good price or not! I realise it's a learning curve but if any of you who have been here a while and know the ropes could prevent us from too much of an 'expensive' learning curve we'd be really grateful!
Cheers for any help
Lol

Have you tried Super A-mart? or Forty Winks for beds, they gave us a good deal, there is one at Homemaker City not far off Gympie Road at Aspley.

super amart down gympie road, there is also a big brand outlet which is quite cheap, try bunnings for your bbq and outdoor stuff - we found them really cheap, and also IKEA on the southside - they are reasonable and will deliver for a charge!! failing that, if you are on a tight budget check out courier mail on a saturday and look at secondhand or garage sales in your area to put you on!! you can pick some right bargains this time of year lol!!
good luck

Please don't buy anything from Super A Mart. It's all total crap and the service and delivery is even worse. They are almost as bad as Fantastic Furniture although I am only taking other people's word for that because I've never been in one of their shops

Super A Mart sell expensive junk.
Forty Winks sell expensive beds.
Freedom Furniture and Domayne are good for "better than Ikea" furniture
You MIGHT be lucky at Myer where they recently had oddments of floor stock heavily reduced.
Try renting from PABS or similar if you need furniture temporarily.
For something familiar, go to IKEA.

BBQ and Patio furniture should be discounted at the moment as it is winter. Try BBQs Galore but also Big W, Kmart and Target where you might get some of the summer stock discounted.

Freedom is like ikea. Although there is an ikea in logan. We bought a smart sofa bed and got it delivered to sunshine coast. We have a vast interior up here on the coast. Not sure if one in brisbane.
Harvery norman do good furniture. Bunnings do BBQs that aren't too expensive. We got outdoor furniture from super A mart and had no problems at all.
Wherever you go make sure you knock the price down at least 10 % and ask for free delivery! Never pay the price on the ticket!

We have a place called highgrove on the coast and they sell some fantastic stuff. They did say that they were looking at opening a store in the valley but do not know if they have yet.
