Good places to buy childs car seat ?
Does anyone know where to buy a child's car seat for a 1 year old. As we are going to rent a car straight away. So rather then hire one as we will need to get one anyway for when we buy our own car. Many thanks.

Kmart, BigW, Myer or Target would be your best bet. First 2 would probably be cheapest, although in theory they all should price match each other.

We are now selling our old one, and didn't realise at the time that they came in different types.
eg: some are "5 months up to 4 years"
others are "5 months up to 7 years" = Maybe the best option for you ?
ours is "3 years up to 7 years"

Re: Good places to buy childs car seat ?
As others have suggested K-Mart & Big W are the best for price - we have found baby shops to be very expensive.
Depending on the size of your one year old you might be able to get a booster seat - otherwise a standard car seat. We have just brought one for Todd (6 months) which lasts up to 18kgs for $120 from Big W (we saw ones in the baby shop for $400+!!).
You will find the car seats are secured differently here, as they need to be anchored to a secure point in the car, as well as the seat belt. Most new cars have anchor points in them otherwise the seat comes with an anchor which you attach to the car.
Hope this helps

This sounds like the one ABC. Many thanks. I suppose we will be able to fit our own in the hire car?
