Default Good Perth Suburbs

Hi

Hope some of the Perth people can help me. We are contemplating a move west and want to know where we should be looking for houses. We are looking to spend up to around $700,000 and need 5 bedrooms.

Possibly looking to be within about 30 mins of Mt Claremont where the Institute of Sport is based.

Thanks

Rudi

Hi Renth

Thanks for posting the link. I had a quick look, but it's not really giving me the info I want - I should have been a bit clearer I guess!!!

I want to know what suburbs are considered 'nice' and which ones to definitely avoid. I have 3 young children, so good schools are another consideration for me.

Hope you can help.

Rudi

Don't you remember the song "Message to you Rudi" by the Specials?

Anyway, All the suburbs neighbouring Mt Claremont are OK, $700,000 will probably get you a reasonable house in most of these suburbs.

You should find something of that size in most of the western suburbs (bar the directly coastal ones) for around the $700K mark. 30mins in Perth travel time is quite a while, I assume your tie to the Institute of Sport is work related, so id work on more of a 15min radius as there will be minimal traffic around those areas. (I live in City Beach and work in Subiaco, it takes me 10mins at 8am to get to work )
Id look at Swanbourne, Claremont, Mount Claremont, Wembley Downs, Floreat, Churchlands, Mosman Park, Subiaco, Daglish, West Leederville.
All have different appeals but its a case of driving around once your here and seeing what suits you and your lifestyle.
As an indication you could probably go 30mins north of Mt Claremont and pick up a house your size for under $300K.
Happy hunting
