Gold Coast at Xmas
Hi everyone.
We are planning a trip to the Gold Coast at Christmas. Just wanting to make sure the Theme Parks will be open and not closed over the Christams period.
Thanks in advance

Hi there. Yes, all the theme parks are open over the Christmas period, but obviously closed Christmas Day.

We went to the Gold Coast for Christmas last year. We were there 21st-29th December. The only day the theme parks were closed was Christmas day, but after boxing day they were really manic with queues of over an hour for rides Definitely best to get a few days in before Christmas when most people are busy with other things, as we could get on some rides without queing, and nothing was more than half an hour. We have kids aged 13, 9, 8 and 3 and we all had a brilliant time.

Hi
We were there Christmas before last and went to Movie World on Boxing Day. Went on Superman the day it opened!!! Queued for about an hour for that, but apart from that didn't queue that much. Definitely not half as bad as Orlando.
They also have limited opening hours - usually 10am to 5pm - again, different from Orlando where they open at 9am and don't close until about 9ish. It is very laid back though - you will definitely enjoy it!
Have a great time

Avoid Movie World. It's totally rubbish and a rip off.
Dreamworld on the other hand is fab, loads of good rides and well worth the money - and, depending on when you go you can go into the Big Brother house if that's your kind of thing.

We took my parents last year to Dreamworld on x-mas eve and it was fairly empty, which was what we were looking for.

Hi,
Me n the kids went to Movieworld the day before Xmas Eve last year and had a fab time...my daughter took her friend with her and they went round and round all of the big roller coaster type rides as there were no queues.
We bought annual passes when they were on offer and we will definitely be going again this year.
We also have Wet n Wild passes but it gets extremely busy with teenagers at weekends and in the holidays.
Sea World is a really good day out as there is a lot of variety there, ski show, dolphin show, sea lion show, as well as a water park and theme park type rides.

Cheers people. Sounds like a brilliant holiday to have. Something different at Christmas for a change.
I have been to Orlando Disney Land and it was wicked, so looking forward to it.
Has anyone got any ideas how much the parks cost, or can you get a package deal when you book.

Movieworld is great, but dont be expecting anything like the American theme parks, we have the poor relations.
The Great Aussie Outback Adventure is supposed to be excellent, its aussie themed, horseback riding etc.
