Gold Coast - will we need to bring our duvet!
Hi
Just debating with hubby whether to bring our duvet or not? Any thoughts?
For those of you who do use duvets, what tog do you use?

We didn`t bring any because we wanted to buy new ones when we got here. I bought all lightweight duvets but ended up going out and buying a Winter weight for me and my oh`s bed as I was cold in the Winter. My teenage sons are fine with the lightweight ones though.

My winter doona is on the bed now. Its getting too bloody cold at night and its only going to get worse...
At least the temp picks up in the day, but those artic winds havn't yet cranked up properly in Brisbane yet.
I never thought I would feel the cold but now anything less than 20 degrees and its snow gear time.

Bring them! We have one of those ones that separates into two - a spring one and an autumn one clipped together for winter. This summer was mild and we had the spring one on the whole time, we are now on the autumn one but it will only be a couple of weeks before they get clipped together. I don't "do" cold

Well, after a week of sleeping under two Australian duvets and a fleecy blanket - and giving up this weekend and putting an electric blanket on the bed - I'd recommend bringing your duvets and any other warm things for the evenings!

You can buy doonas here that have an 'equal to xy blankets' or they have sliding scale on the packet that tells you what weight it is ie..winter,summer,spring....so that would help you. But you should bring your own as good doonas can be expensive!

Yes bring your duvet and as many covers as you can. Duvets (and hence covers) are different sizes here, except in IKEA. We ended up buying new bedding when we bought a new bed, which could be bigger because we have so much more space here. We've kept the UK bed and duvet for the spare room.

Yes you will, we even went out and brought some oil filled radiators last year.

YES! Bring everything warm
It is always colder inside your house than outside......unless you want astronomical bills.
I hope to have a woodfired stove (or a fake one....less cleaning) fitted in the future....MMMMmmm waaaarrrm!!
