Gold Coast Theme Park Accommodation

Hi everyone

I've booked a holiday to Gold Coast - wife and 2 kids (9 & 11).

Can you suggest any reasonable, safe accommodation near Dreamworld etc.

Thanks.

Big Baz

Hi

There's Gold Coast Holiday Park, across the high way from Movie World 5mins from Dream World.

There isn't a great deal of accommodation near to Dreamworld itself as it is situated on the motorway. If you are looking for family friendly accommodation, then southport/broadbeach would probably be your best bet, about 15 minutes away and is also close to Seaworld as well.

They also generally have shuttle buses to and from the theme parks and there's more to do in the evenings. I'd go with Broadbeach.

My friends went last October and stayed at the resort within Seaworld. They said it was fantastic and would thoroughly recommend.

Hey,

Just back from the Gold Coast, stayed at Ashmore Palms Holiday Park on the Gold Coast, not right beside the theme parks but drivable as well as being close to Surfers. Nice place and the people friendly enough. Didnt have any problems with safety etc while we where there!

We picked it due to it being cabins as we went for 2weeks and it allowed us to cook ourselves etc. Plus easy enough to go up and down the Gold Coast.

We were there for a long weekend a few years back, highly recommended from us too :)

Broadbeach is also a nice spot if you want to avoid the tourist main drag.

Ashmore Palms seems to be getting the best reviews at the moment.

Broadwater Tourist Park looks great on the website, but couple of shocking reviews on Trip Advisor. Sea World resort had some bad ones as well.

My mates don't have high expectations. They live in Mullaloo, they fish, they camp but they were very happy with the accommodation at Sea World. They said they were after a clean bed which they got. Depends what you are after I guess. I don't think the Gold Coast is the land of the 5* resort from what I have read. How bad can it be mate.

Oh yeh, Hinterland is also good ... But if I was going to stay there I might as well pitch a tent in the back yard :D

The OH loves Coolangatta for a coastal change, I don't mind it down there but prefer the quiet of the hinterland.

And the thing about reviews is that they tend to attract negative opinions rather than the unheard satisfied masses.

We got a decent discount thanks to our Entertainment Book but even so we couldn't fault the place especially for kids
