Hi just moving over to the gold coast, does anybody know what the rental situation is like ?
I am currently looking for work, but we have $80k in the bank would landlords consider us or do you have to be in employment ?
Is the rental market very busy with more applicants that properties like it was earlier in the year, would be nice to get some info from people that are out there
Looking for a 2 bedroom unit anywhere along the gold coast.
Thanks

No offence meant to anyone who is a landlord or an agent with morals, but many agents are pulling nasty tactics to rent properties for high rents - taking bids for rentals, and then awarding to the highest at higher-than-market rents, accepting huge payments in advance, lots of tactics that aren't really legal but getting away with it.
Not saying that you won't find somewhere good at a reasonable price, but be prepared for lots of legwork, lots of paperwork, and long queues to view places. Some properties will only do scheduled viewings, so you end up with 30-40 minutes on a Saturday morning and maybe 50 or 60 families looking round at once.
Good luck
