Going to Oz on holiday visa to try and get work
Hello I am thinking of going to OZ on a holiday visa and applying for
Jobs and if successful I will then hopefully get sponsonred by one of
the many sponsoship agencies (where I get myself sponsored not by the employing company).
Does anyone have experience of doing this? Or knows anyone who managed
to do this?

what sort of work?
I now someone in IT that has done this.
I also emailed an agency in AUS and got this reply:
Lesters are a management company that specialises in sponsorship and taxation solutions for IT professionals. In terms of sponsorship we require that you fulfill the below criterion before we can actually look into sponsoring you:
1. You work in the IT industry
2. You have a approximately 5 year's IT experience (this can include your tertiary qualifications). I believe Lisa has already advised you that your skills and experience are suitable.
3. You have secured a contract worth over $24 per hour for a minimum of 2-3 months.
To find a contract, you can either use one of the many IT recruitment agencies that you may already have knowledge of, or you can try taking a look at the following web-sites:
www.jobsearch.com.au
www.jobnet.com.au
www.hotjobs.com.au
www.seek.com.au
These sites will give you some idea of the opportunities available and also provide you with the contact details of some of the agencies.
We do not actually source a contract for you as we are not a recruitment agency. Obviously this is easier if you are already in Australia. Are you intending to arrive on a more temporary visa?

I would be going for IT work. I have about 6 years experience and when I was in Australia 2 years ago (on WHV) I was earning about $30ph. So if this is a viable option we will go for it.
Cheers for the reply

http://www.paul-ingle.com.au/Home.asp
to secure sposnored IT work before leaving the UK.
It's a Melbourne-based company....not sure if they recruit Oz-wide, or where you are headed tho....
