wow! dont know of the area playford though, anyone share any info?
Playford is in the Northern Suburbs of Adelaide, about 40 - 50 minutes out of the CBD. There is lots of building work going on up that way, so for any tradies on here it would be a good base. The above link isn't working just now, but here's their website :) http://www.playford.sa.gov.au/site/page.cfm |

cant imagine its too salubrious a location at the moment, with such nice new big houses for so little cash!
The low prices are due to the fact that it's so far from the city. Playford is a part of the Whyalla Township. I've been to Whyalla, and although it's not exactly a bustling metropolis, it is quite a lovely place - if you don't mind living a long way from the suburbs, and you can cope with the harsh, dry heat. You can see some examples of the local real estate here. Nice houses; nice area; low prices because it's so far from the city. :) |

There is one road straight into the city, so it's actually not that bad. The house prices are cheaper because that part of Adelaide is currently more or less one big building site. South Australia are in the process of shipping in lots of families to the RAF base in Edinburgh Park (which is about 10 - 15 minutes away from Playford, and it is expected that within the next few years there will be a boom similar to the one WA is having. Especially when they start the Olympic Dam expansion. Good time to be moving here IMO ;) Story here http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/s...006301,00.html :) |
