Total bubblegum telly - almost like propaganda. I love it here, but segments like that, on a drizzling rainy mid-week UK morning ...
Just as well they did film it in Adelaide - here in south coast, NSW we've officially broken the rain record set in 1931!!!

Fluffy alright
Couldnt find perth but went straight on to melbourne.
Cost of living was not only mentioned but first up, 40% cheaper than UK Seriously amusing for those of us living here, seriously misleading IMO for those being wound up to move here.
The presenter seemed to be almost ramming the ''kids couldnt go outside in UK ' point down the womans throat wound the interview up with 'dont you find it much safer, much less threatening, you can let your children out there ' I mean really where did these people come from, no wonder UK kids are white they never get let out
The beach featured, was St Kilda the council there does regular needle clean ups, the tally in december 2005 according to the local newspaper was 2000 needles, to demonstrate australias lovliness the children were digging in the sand.
I am not sure if it was a serious piece or a comedy skit from little britain down under.
I hope they do my area, last time we saw this area done in UK, they showed the house of business people we know its worth 3 million at least but it came over as hey man they all live like that

Did you see the way they touched up the sky to make it look blue and cloudless not grey and miserable?

Just to reply, I was the one that was interviewed with my kids playing in the sand and I do come from a place where I wouldn't have let my children play outside whereas I do not have a problem here. If I didn't agree with something he said I would have argued it!
As for needles, never seen any on that beach, at home it would have been a different story, they would have been playing with pebbles for a start, being careful not to touch any needles, glass or maybe dog shit!
As for the weather that day, it was absolutely gorgeous no need to try and make it look like that, it just was.
Don't get me wrong I am not saying everything here is rosy, we are not even sure we will stay yet but I am just giving my side of the story and sorry it took so long to reply but we were away for the long weekend.
Anyway, bye for now

Sounds painful! :P
The Port Phillip Council says sweeps of the beach are conducted twice a week by hand and machine.
