Back in August I promised to sort out in October ......(a bit late I know) a girls night out for all us newly arrived to meet all you old hands who are now practically real aussies...

Thursday night I had my first night out since arriving on 23 September, my husband and I went to the Casino (Conrad Treasury) and had a wonderful night (thanks to an expat friend for babysitting.!)

On reflection and after talking to a couple of friends we decided it would be a great place for a girls night. As well as the usual tables for those of us who like a flutter or two, there are several bars, restaurants, a couple of dance floors and a great balcony to sit and watch the river. In addition on Thursday there were 2 live bands.

The date has been decided on as Saturday 17 December, to make to most of the Christmas atmosphere.

It has been mentioned that there will be a Brisbane couple night that same night, I don't see this as a problem, just quite jealous of those of you not needing babysitterss...... unfortunatly a lot of us don't have the luxury of going out again as a couple....... yet!!

So.... who's up for it... all welcome gamblers and non gamblers!!!!

Unfortunately we will be in the UK then........and I was only saying the other night how I fancy a night out at the casino. Never mind, you may have one in the New Year. As for babysitters, my 18yr old daughter babysits for quite a few expat families.

We will def have to arrange 1 for after xmas thats if we dont spend too much...if Hannah was around she could of babysat so we could have gone out with the couples although I love a night out with the girls and the casino is fantastic....so Juile I am in!

i know excactly what you mean mate,we came to last last girlie night in brissy,about 5 or 6 of us from bayside but no one else seemed to be there still we found a great pub and had a good night anyway

I think the girls deserve a night off, especially those of us at home with small children and don't have the chance to go for a drink after work... or a work christmas night out to look forward to. A couple of drinks, a boogie, something to eat and a bet if you are so inclined what a great night.. any one else want to join us?

With regards to the other night out, a comment was made quite directly to another expat about how it was now a 'couples' night... apologies if this isn't true, I'm sure we'll all have a good time, you know where we'll be if you want to join us later on for a flutter!

Well me n Gaz are going to go to the other night out at Story Bridge but both of us used to love going to the casino in Manchester and we've not got round to going to the Conrad yet so we may pop in after the Story Bridge. I'll look out for you all and come over and say hello but I won't hang around cos I'll have a 'boy' with me! But it'd be nice to meet some of you who's posts I've been reading for some time now, and put faces to names. Then we'll sneak off and have a gamble. I'll be up for the next girlie night though so I'll watch out for that after xmas maybe?

I thought it was for me to meet lots of ladies.

After all, bubba is due on the 19th so I thought I'd go to the storey bridge hotel and have a final blow out before fatherhood hits.

I don't really want any guys watching... LADIES ONLY!!!
