Default Girlie Weather Question

We are due to move to Mooloolaba in August or early September. Being a girl, I am wondering if I will need my winter coat, woollies etc...

I lived in Sydney and I found it very cold in winter - I know Qld is milder, but winter temps still look cool.

Anyone out there help me with my wardrobe dilema??

In Brisbane already we're starting to feel the cold when the sun goes down. It's friggin' freezin' when you get out of the shower on a morning. not that your coat would help ......

You won't need winter woollies from the UK but I would definitelt suggest bringing some long sleeved gear and maybe a fleece for the evenings.

Bring it all. If you don't use it, nothing lost, if you don't bring it - you may well regret it big time. It is damned chilly here at the moment once the sun has gone. Not normally this cold this early but depending on where you settle, can account for a degree or two up or down. 6 or 7 degrees doesn't sound too bad but when the days are mid to late 20's dropping to 6 is not pleasant

Where are you on GC that it drops to 6? Lowest we've had for ages is about 14, which is cold enough.

Unhappy Re: Girlie Weather Question

Oh my god and its only April!

I will definitely pack my warm stuff. Seems pretty cool at night already. I will be distraught if I arrive in Oz and its colder there than in the UK. Still, I suppose its a good time to acclimatise the kids. Not so good for the beach or lolling around a swimming pool.

We arrived last July and I think it was getting down to 10/11 overnight and that was cold. I needed a fleece on to go for a paper at 7-8 o'clock but by 930 it was 20C or so and pleasant enough. My tip? Stay in bed

We actually got some comments for wearing shorts through the day at this time. I know that come this July / August, I'll feel too cold for shorts. You get used to the climate pretty quickly. 24C feels chilly now

A year ago I would have been sweltering in 24C, like a Peter Kay sketch.

"Oooh there's warm and there's warm. I like it warm but I don't like it this warm".

But I tell you after a summer of 32-34, 24 just feels chilly. In fact it's 21C in my living room at the mo and I'm thinking about going for some socks

Actually we were just discussing the warm weather and what people wear (or don't ) in it at work today. Nobody was actually complaining .......

August is supposedly the coolest month. At the moment, it's around 26 max and around 14 min at night. Though that would drop to around 6 at night in August.

Denim/light weight jacket may be required if out on a night and long sleeves after say 5ish.

Fret not though, it's almost midnight here, my house is mainly tiled so very cool and I'm sitting here barefoot in my UK summer jim-jams, ie shorty things and vest top. Loads of people are still swimming in sea at the moment.

You'll love it here whatever the weather

Unless you are moving to Darwin, bring some winter clothing

If going to Darwin, bring a decent quality Mac (and I don't mean a computer )

Dropped to 6C here last night and it was *very* parky. Sort of cold, crisp morning where there would have been light frost in the UK. Had our heating on today for the first time - and damned glad of it!!!
