Getting visa granted whilst on holiday

We are hoping to go out to OZ in April for a holiday/reccie do we need to inform anyone we are out there incase our visa is approved whilst we are there. Does it matter if you have a ETA visa when your PR one is approved?

Hi

You are not allowed to be onshore when the visa is granted.
Not sure if they can tell you have applied for ETA but probably worthwhile to speak to your CO and let them know.

We spoke to CO and managed to get our visa sorted 2 weeks before we flew!
Certainly worth trying as it then removes the problem of validating.

Good luck

We don't have a CO yet but you never know how quick these things are going to go. I just didn't want to be caught out being out there when the visa was issued. It would be nice to get the visa before we go, but that would be too easy :)
