Getting a UK expat mortgage while in Oz

I'm looking at buying an investment property in England with the intention of possibly returning to England to live in it myself (in a couple of years minimum).

I don't know anything about getting an expat mortgage apart from having to have a large deposit.

Has anyone got an expat mortgage or looked into it before?? Any advise would be helpful! :confused:

Seems to me that seeking some professional advice from an independent would be very sensible.

Try ADS Mortage & Financial Planning in Maidstone. A fellow called Grant (Banks?) assisted us to get a mortgage with the Halifax. Charged a fair bit in fees but we thought it was just about worth it.

You'll need around 25% deposit to get a reasonable interest rate, based on our experience

We used our own financial adviser you don't need any specialist company and you certainly shouldn't be paying them any fees as they get paid from the bank itself.
