Getting PR in Australia/NewZeland
Hey Folks
What are the eligible criteria for getting Permanent Resident in Australia/NewZeland ? How much it will cost? Waht are the requirements? How long it might take?

Visit http://www.immi.gov.au and go to the Migration section (first up try the Skilled Independent stream. (Australia) or http://www.immigration.govt.nz/ (NZ)
If you have Adobe's Acrobat Reader (free from http://www.adobe.com or probably already installed on your PC) you can download many informative documents.
As for cost ... every person's situation is different ... but I think I recall seeing $1,745 dollars mentioned as the aussie application fee (mind you my memory ain't what it used to be) on top of that fee one may have fees for vetting qualifications, translating, medical, document certification ... the list goes on ... then you've got airfares ... shipping

Just a side point ... it used to be (or it seemed to me) that young qualified folk (under 30) were most likely to obtain the passmark ... now somewhat more middle aged people (30-45) perceive they have better chances (due to subtle changes in the points system over time)
