getting my visa at Aus house - my story
I got to Australia house 7.45am - there were 5 people in the queue in front of me.
By 8.30 - no doubt fueled by the warm weather - the queue had grown to about 30.
We were let in by security at 8.45, and they started processing us at 9am.
I was given ticket A003 a la your local deli/job centre. And no you can't sign on at the same time. In front of me with A001 and A002 were 2 spouse visa applicants.
As tickets are issued according to inquiry type, some business visas with H letters were seen before me even though they were behind me in the queue. (bastards :-) )
I had to wait until 09.27 as the spouse visas took about 15 mins each. (Bastards ;-) ). Must have been checking the colour of their toothbrushes matched their stories etc.
Issuing a visa was a case of checking me on the computer, for what seemed like an eternity; printing it out, and then sticking it in my passport.
When she was tapping away on the computer I was trying to appear extremely nonchalant - vertually holding my breath - but was full of nerves.
When I walked away moments later I had a grin a mile long on my face.
Once outside, I had a quick butchers.
Almost got hit by a bus walking across the road to Temple tube, trying to read the last line of the visa.
It says "permitted to remain in Australia indefinitely".

You do realise you'll be walking around with a permanet grin and totally oblivious to all thats happening around you.
People with their grim dower expressions will think you've been taking drugs!
Good luck Badgers, your time has come

G'day badgers,
Well done mate - fells good doesn't it!!! And no, you aren't the only one to nearly get run down crossing the road at Temple! Did the same thing yesterday!
Am now back in the office displaying my visa to people till they are sick of the sight of it! At this rate they will club together to pay my fare just to get rid of me sooner!!!

Badger, whats all this soon to be in Melbourne!!!
2 weeks ago you were ready to hit the great ozzie outback complete with cork hat and horse, or was that a plane? Blimey Melbournes a bit tame for a wild pioneer like yourself isn't it? I mean you can hardly round up a tram or hunt for wilderbeast in David Jones. :scared:
Or have I got the wrong Badger? Suburban Badger or outback badger.
