Getting a mortgage
 
Just wondering,can you get a mortgage whilst on a RSMS visa?

We have just bought a house with mortgage on a 457 visa, had to apply for Foreign Investment Review Board Approval. Have to sell house if we don't have PR by the time visa expires, we also cannot rent house out or buy second house for investment. Once you have PR though you can do as you please.

RSMS is a PR visa, so no problems :)

Don't forget that as a 457 (temp) you are not entitled to the First Home Owners Grant (FHOG) in QLD. If you get PR within 1 year of house purchase, you can back-claim it ($7,000).
