Cool Getting a mortgage

How hard or easy is it to get a mortgage or a loan in Australia. For example say you have 50 to 75% of purchase price in cash, you have just arrived, want to buy a place to call your own (in my case a shed) and have not yet managed to get permanent work yet. If this is possible how do people go about it. I am off in about 10 weeks and am on me ownsome.

Cheers

You will need to be employed for a few months in order to have a work record here , then its plain sailing they will lend you far above what you can afford to pay back with great bank charges and at higher interest rates than the Uk lovely people.

Get a job first, then they will lend easily. Pommie is correct in what they lend here. Most in debt up to the eyeballs. Take into consideration what the payments will be when interest rates go up.
