Hi,
Does anybody know the requirement for getting a home-loan in Aus in terms of how long you have to of been working for. I have heard that it must be at least 6 months but the worrying thing is that they do not consider overseas employment. Can anybody confirm this correct or wrong?

I emailed a mortgage broker about this a while ago (haven't got their details to hand). They said as long as I had a permanent job and wasn't in a probationary period there I'd be ok. So it depends on how short a probationary period you can negotiate with your emplyer.

You will also find that if you are a temporary resident you can't get mortgage insurance, which is mandatory for >80% mortgages. If your have PR you can go above 80%, with mortgage insurance.
