Getting Fatter.

New figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics show that Western Australia is the fastest growing state in terms of population growth.

The Housing Industry Association says overseas migration has contributed to the increase in population, with more than 47,000 people added to the WA population.

The state's population is now 2.3 million.

Nationally, the population grew by 1.6 per cent in the year to September last year compared to 2.1 per cent in WA.

Is this a good or bad thing?

doesn't matter whether ít's good or bad the reality is that population in this city is going to increase at a large rate per year for many years to come.

Good if you are established and have houses and stuff paid off. grim if your just starting out.

This is actually the slowest population growth rate in WA for nearly 5 years.

true but still growing at a large rate. I remember when Perth was about 900 000 now it's at about 2.5 million including greater areas.
